Standard Operating Procedures for the DGB
OUR AIM
The members of "The Dedicated Bomber Group" have gathered under the Heritage of the
43rd BG (H), and the 97th BG (H), who flew the B-24,and B-17's in the ETO ,MTO and PTO
during World War 2.
The DBG strives to emulate the success that these two Bomber Group's experienced during World War 2. To that we commit that we will do our Best to represent the 43rd BG (H), and the 97th BG (H) within the restraints of the IL-2 1946 Flight Simulator game.
We come here for "Friendship", "Brotherhood", "Teamwork" and a passion for Historical Missions, plus Non-Historical Missions.
The drive to Excel will be the Foundation that the Virtual43rd BG and 97th BG will
build upon as we work together to be the best Bomber Group in the IL-2 1946 Community.
These virtual Bomber Groups are not dual membership. They are however one and the same representing two different but unique Bomber Groups within the USAAF. On certain days we will fly as the Virtual 43rd BG in the PTO. Other days we will fly as the virtual 97th BG in the ETO and MTO. Actual Mission days will be scheduled once the Group has gone through their Basic Training as a Group before being declared operational.
We are here to have "Fun", but also here to do a job. When flying a training sortie or in a Bombing Mission, we must be serious, committed and dedicated in doing our Jobs as Bomber Pilots. It adds to the overall enjoyment of the games immersion.
MEMBERSHIP
Dual Membership is Allowed in the Dedicated Bomber Group.
RECRUITING POLICY
The DBG recruiting policy is as follows;
1) The Group is recruiting pilots from Canada and the United States plus anyone living in Asia down to Australia and New Zealand. Our primary language spoken in game is English.
2) Pilots who would be ideal are those who are dedicated and committed to being a team player, who can get along and support their fellow team mates in game and who don’t pose any hostility towards each other. Maturity is what we are looking for in the DBG.
3) Minimum age is 20 years old.
4) You will need a working headset with microphone along with a Track IR device. Our level of realism we fly at within the Group demands such a device for enhanced situational awareness or “SA” for short.
5) You must be able to attend training and any group events, real life schedules permitting, if not we ask that you contact your squadron commander or those within your chain of command within the Group to indicate your absence.
6) You must be able to accept the fact that the DBG tries to emulate a military organization with a set structure and military atmosphere for the added enjoyment of its membership. Much like role playing in other online gaming sites.
7) Poltential Recruit Session: Each new poltential recruit will go through a screening session with the DBG Staff. This screening interview will be given to see if the poltential recruit is right for the DBG. When the interview is finished, the poltential recruit will be asked to wait in the Recruit Waiting Room, while the DBG HQ Staff discusses rather the poltential is right for the Group or not. Upon the HQ Staff decision, the poltential recruit will be bought back into the Processing Room and given the HQ Staff decision.
If the poltential recruit is accepted into the Group, he will then go through a Mods check.
Each new Recruit that comes into the DBG that meets the minimum flying standards for the Group virtually will have a friendly mods check by one of the Groups Staff Officers. This check may last any where from say 30 minutes or longer depending on the computer literacy of the new Recruit. In this case, you the Recruit must have the minimum default mods plus mod maps that came with HSFX 4.1 originally. If your lacking specific mods in your "JSGMEMODS" folder ( Mods Switcher), the missing mods will be provided to you accordingly. Any other mods that may have come from SAS or from another site that isn't authorized by the Group will need to be deactivated before you attempt to fly with the Group online for any mission sorties etc.
8) Group Tags: Every new recruit will wear the asterisk *DBG*_”your name” tag until you have finished Basic and advance flight training program. After you have earned both your Pilot and Bombardier Wings, You will be commission as a 2LT and assigned to a Bomber Squadron virtually within the Group. Upon your commission, you will then be allowed to wear the Official DBG Tags, you will then change to DBG_”your name” for Hyperlobby as well as the DBG pilot roster.
We are currently taking Enlistment Applications as well looking for people / pilots who will be committed and dedicated and who wants to be in a realistic Military Organization and online
Bomber Group.
The DBG are looking for both Experienced and Non-Experienced Pilots. If you feel that you have what it takes to be apart of the DBG, please head into the Dedicated Bomber Groups forum and fill out your enlistment papers there. Once submitted, either the Group CO or XO will be in touch with you pending your application for membership.

Basically this means to keep up to date on what is happening Group wise so your not left guessing or falling behind in anything
C) War Fatigue
1) We understand that the real world or Family matters come first; at times will keep you from participation. Other times you just get burnt out from flying to many Missions on a weekly basis. If this is the case then please E-Mail your Squadron Commanders or PM the Group CO on the forum that you will not be able to participate in a Group Training or Group Mission. Please tell us what days you won't be able to Participate or if you will be absent for how many days. That’s all we expect and ask for naturally.
The Chain Of Command is located in The Dedicated Bomber Group Pilot Roster.
Our Goal is to be the best online Bomber Group representing the USAAF in game. At the end of the day, its nice to know that we made an impact in game especially against another online squad. We do hope you understand our requirements for the DBG and its membership. If you feel you can meet these requirements, please take the next step and apply for membership into the DBG.
Regards,
DBG Staff
